FAQ Puzz’le Design

Modular Swiss furniture: assembly, maintenance & delivery

Availability: where can I find and buy Puzz’le Design objects?

You can find all of our references on puzzle-design.ch or search through the list of partner shops here for one that might have what you are looking for.

Points of sale: are there any official Puzz’le flagship stores?

Apart from the puzzle-design.ch online store, Puzz'le does not currently have its own physical shop. You will find a list of our partners and resellers here.

Points of sale: is the range available online the same as in partner shops?

All Puzz'le products are available on puzzle-design.ch. In partner shops, product availability may vary from one store to another. Please contact the store in question or visit its website to make sure they have what you are looking for.

Packaging: why are some items only sold in sets?

For logistical reasons, some items are only available as a bundle. However, we do our best to ensure that you can always get the number of items you want by ordering several bundles.

Assembly and tools: how do I assemble my Puzz’le modular furniture?

It depends on the product. While some of our objects are designed for intuitive tool-free assembly, others may require standard tools (screwdriver, hammer). A detailed assembly guide accompanies every order.

You can also find all our video tutorials here.

Lighting: do Puzz’le lamps have a dimmable light source?

It depends on the lamp. Please visit the specific product page and refer to the product information.

Modularity: can I buy more modules later to expand my furniture?

Absolutely. Our systems are designed to evolve. You can order new elements at any time to transform your setup.

Repairability: do you offer spare parts for your furniture?

Yes. In line with our circular design approach, if a component is damaged or if you lose a part during a move, contact us at info@puzzle-design.ch to obtain a specific replacement part.

Materials: what types of wood does the studio use?

We primarily use certified and labeled Swiss solid wood. We favor beech due to its abundance in our Swiss forests and its great robustness for precision furniture.

Care: how do I care for my wood and/or metal furniture?

Our woodwork pieces are either oiled, waxed, or left raw. For dusting, a simple soft cloth is enough. For raw wood, if a stain penetrates the fiber, you can use very fine-grit sandpaper to gently remove it, following the direction of the grain.

For metal elements, avoid abrasive materials that could scratch the surface.

Care: How can I ensure the longevity of my Jack module (Jack & Jenny modular storage system)?

A special object needs special care! Since Jack is made from a fully natural composite material, here are a few tips:

  • Usage: For indoor use and storage only.

  • Exposure: Avoid prolonged contact with liquids, damp areas, and direct, prolonged sunlight.

  • Temperature: Keep away from high heat sources.

  • Waste sorting: If used for sorting, clean and dry the bin after each use. Do not use it to store directly compostable substances.

  • Cleaning: Detergents are not recommended; a simple damp cloth is sufficient.

Swissmade: where are Puzz’le objects manufactured?

We have chosen to centre our production in Switzerland simply because proximity helps dialogue, favours short circuits and supports the local businesses. Proud of our products, we are members of Swiss Label.

We also work closely with Portugal. The choice of Amorim Cork Solutions in Porto was a natural one because of their mastery of cork and composite materials.

Made on demand: what is a "Made on demand" product?

When you see the "Made on demand" sign in the purchase module, it means the object enters production the moment we receive your payment. This is a responsible approach that avoids overproduction.

Therefore, delivery times for these pieces are longer than for standard items.

Depending on our manufacturer's schedule, these times may vary slightly (holidays, etc.), in which case we will keep you informed.

Sustainability: to what extent is Puzz'le committed to protecting the environment?

Puzz’le is committed to developing sustainable products while minimizing their environmental impact. To do this, we use recycled and recyclable materials, labeled wood, natural oils, and water-based varnishes and inks. We design our packaging to minimize volume and avoid plastics. We also prioritize local production to limit transportation.

Learn more about our commitment here.

Why Puzz’le: how does Puzz’le differ from industrial furniture?

Our approach is that of a Swiss design studio prioritizing quality over quantity. We produce durable objects locally that have a soul, mainly using eco-friendly materials.

Unlike industrial systems, we promote repairability by offering replacement parts.

Why Puzz’le: How do we compare to mass-market retailers?

Choosing Puzz'le means investing in a timeless piece, eco-responsibly crafted and designed to evolve with you.

Our local production in Switzerland and Portugal guarantees an ethical workforce, short supply chains, and a longevity that mass production simply cannot match. Furthermore, our commitment to sustainability is reflected in our use of non-toxic materials and the ability to replace every single part individually.
